The constant cry from the little Fawcetts this week was, "Uncle Nathanael! Uncle Nathanael!" "Watch me do this. Read this to me. Listen to my piano song, etc. etc."
John and his brother Nathanael at the Treatment Center Friday, March 28
John's brother Nathanael came for a one week visit and left yesterday. We already miss him. It was a delight to see Nathanael and have his love poured out on all of us for a week. Our many thanks to Aunt Julie who held down the fort in Brazil with our cousins Ethan and Micah. (You may remember the pictures of Charlotte and Ethan covered in blue paint last summer, or the picture of Micah emerging from the drier. Scroll down the right sidebar for a refresher.)
Thank you for your continued concern and prayers for John. He has been home from the hospital almost one week now. He had a slight fever on Monday, so there is a concern that the infection is not completely gone in his lungs. John lost three pounds from Friday to Monday. He now weighs in at 131 pounds. He has lost 100 pounds since our wedding 7.5 years ago. This is a growing concern for me, especially because he does not seem thrilled about eating.
John is interested in getting up and around, but his energy vanishes quickly. He is coherent most of the time, with occasional lapses. He played the piano a little bit today. It was a joy for all of us, but bittersweet for John, who was aware of the gaps in his ability.
As this unending winter wears on, we are looking for all kinds of diversions to keep our spirits up. I helped the children put up a tent in their bedroom. I told them they could sleep in it if they would both fall asleep. Within 30 minutes they had both emerged from the bedroom for various "camper needs" and wound up sleeping the night in their own cozy beds.
We have also made several trips to the local indoor pool to use us excess energy.
We all need to get out and experience the world around us.

Thanks for your update, Margie!
It was great to see all the pics. Glad to hear about the fun time the kids had with Nathanael. Wish I could've heard John play the piano!
I'll continue to pray that spring will come forth in bursting Green!
Love,
Sal
P.S. (You are sooooo beautiful!)
Praying for John to regain strength and an appetite!
